Integrating the Theory of Change with M&E Frameworks
Thrilled to have presented at M&E Bench’s Social Networking Platform on a critical topic: Integrating Theory of Change (ToC) with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Frameworks!

On June 13, 2025, I had the privilege of diving into how ToC serves as the backbone for impactful program design and assessment. Here’s why this matters:
✅ ToC Maps the Journey: It outlines the causal pathway from inputs to impact, ensuring every step is purposeful and assumptions are tested.
✅ M&E Brings It to Life: By aligning monitoring (tracking progress) and evaluation (assessing outcomes) with ToC, programs stay focused on what truly drives change.
✅ Real-World Impact: I shared examples from education (STEM programs boosting literacy) and health (handwashing initiatives reducing infections), showing how integrated M&E systems enable adaptive management.
✅ Emerging Trends: From digital M&E tools to behavioral science integration, aligning ToC with M&E is now a donor expectation and a game-changer for transparency and stakeholder buy-in.

Integrating ToC with M&E isn’t just a technical exercise, it’s about empowering programs to deliver measurable, sustainable results.
